Laser Resurfacing

Laser Resurfacing in Encino, California

Laser Resurfacing is designed to remove the outer, damaged layer of skin to reveal a smoother and younger appearance. Using pulsating beams of light, Laser Resurfacing effectively removes the outer layer of skin, also known as the epidermis. During this process, the underlying layers of skin are heated to stimulate natural collagen growth. Over time, Laser Resurfacing will cause the skin to naturally heal to form a smoother and firmer skin surface. Dr. Matthew Malamet uses Laser Resurfacing to improve:

  • Skin tone and complexion
  • Liver spots
  • Aged or sun-damaged skin
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Small scars
  • Non-responsive skin
  • Warts
  • Birthmarks
  • Enlarge oil glands of the nose

Laser Resurfacing Results

Immediately following the procedure, it is not uncommon for patients to experience some discomfort as the surface of the face heals. By keeping the head elevated and using ice to minimize swelling, any pain or discomfort can be minimized. The surface of the skin will be sensitive during the healing process, which can last 1-2 weeks depending on the size of the area treated. Patients are encouraged to wait until the surface of the skin is fully healed before using light and oil-free make-up to disguise any temporary redness. Once the area has completely healed, the stimulated collagen growth will produce a more youthful and firm skin appearance.
