Breast size and shape can be an important part of a woman’s self-image, affecting her self-confidence. Some women have felt unsatisfied with their breast size or shape for as long as they can remember.
Breast augmentation, of course, can change all of that. Choosing to have augmentation with Dr. Malamet is a big decision, and certainly not one to take lightly. But once you make that decision, there are other decisions you’ll need to make, as well. Of course, Dr. Malamet will help you with each of them.
With augmentation, you’ll have four additional decisions beyond simply opting to have the procedure.
Implant type. You’ll choose between saline implants or silicone implants. Both types have pluses and minuses. Most people feel that silicone implants have a more natural feel than saline. However, if a saline implant ruptures, your body simply absorbs the salt water. If a silicone implant ruptures, you’ll need to have any silicone that has leaked removed.
Implant position. You’ll decide if you want the implant placed atop the breast muscle or underneath the breast muscle. Many believe that implants placed under the muscle have a more natural look, but this is all personal preference.
Implant style. The last of your decisions will be the size and shape of your implants. You will also decide if you want your implants to have texture, which can help to keep them from shifting.
Incision location. Implants can be placed through incisions either at the bottom of the breast, near or in the areola, or in the armpit. Obviously, incisions in the armpit leave the least visible scarring.
While these decisions may seem daunting, Dr. Malamet will help you will all of them, allowing you to be excited by the prospect of your new shapelier self. Call us at 818-380-3130 and let’s talk about the possibilities.
