Summer may be over, but that doesn’t mean you should give up on your goals to get great looking legs. There is no time like the present to prepare for next summer season—plus, the sooner you get to work, the better you’ll look in your skinny jeans and cute boots this fall.
Here are some tips to get you going:
- Eat a healthy, balanced diet. You know the basics—eat of fruits, vegetables, lean protein, and whole grains while keeping the sugar, carbs and fat to a minimum. Eating right will help you keep your legs slim and it will provide you with the nutrients and energy you need to exercise.
- Maintain some variety in your workout routine. Changing up your exercise pattern reduces boredom, but it also gives you the opportunity to target different muscles in your legs. Instead of sticking to the treadmill, shake things up by taking a yoga class, lifting weights, swimming, trying the kettle ball, jumping rope, or walking with friends in your neighborhood.
- Avoid tanning beds and sun exposure. You may associate sexy legs with a sun-kissed glow, but sexy legs are healthy legs, and tanning beds and too much sun exposure are NOT healthy. If you can’t make peace with the current tone of your legs, get them spray tanned, but don’t risk the dry skin, wrinkles, discoloration, and cancer that come from unhealthy tanning.
- Ask about an inner thigh lift. This procedure removes excess skin and fat from the upper thighs. It can help your thighs look slimmer and smoother. A thigh lift works best on patients who are at healthy stable weight. A thigh lift can help eliminate the fat that doesn’t respond well to diet or exercise. It can also help remove excess skin, which is common in people who’ve lost significant amounts of weight. The procedure is relatively simple and most patients can return home the same day and resume regular activities soon afterward.
